This week I went to Jersey for holiday, I took many photos and found it very hard choosing the best photo! The trip I chose was my first to Gerald Durrell wildlife park for endangered species. This was one of my first proper attempts at wildlife photos. This baby orangutan was swinging about a lot and I managed to take a shot at it. I was very pleased with the result as the orangutan was fully in focus and the nice colour balance.
This week I went down to Hengistbury head to go cycling. I took my camera just in case. I went down to the beach, to where some rocks were. I could of tried a slow shutter speed to try and smooth the water but it was still slightly to bright or it could be blurred so I decided to go the safe way with a fast shutter speed. In lightroom I added a gradient filter to the sky which gave it a stormy feel to it.
This photo was taken this week in the evening when the stars where really bright. the total exposure was 1296 seconds though it did end up quite bright so I had to the down the exposure.
This week we went down to a friends house to watch a sailing race this was one of my favourite shots of the jetty stretching out to the river. with the leaves hanging above!
On wednesday I decided to do some light painting with the BULB mode on the camera and a remote shutter release. this was one of my best photos because I was fortunate enough to get a bright plane fly through my photo! and the perfect circle with a blue torch.
On tuesday I woke up and looked out the window, it as if we were engulfed in fog! I got my mum to drive me to norley wood crossroads where there were a couple of horses eating the grass. I thought this was a brilliant photo of the horses, sun and distant trees fogged out.
I woke up at 4:00 in the morning, got my tripod and camera out and headed outside to take some photos of the amazing full harvest moon with the lovely mist in the valley. I would have spent more time trying different angles but I was really tired!
